Extended Day-Early Morning Care and Breakfast

Extended Day

Our Extended Day programs provide a safe and nurturing environment for students to learn, grow, and play.

We encourage individuality, creativity and cooperative behavior through diverse activities, crafts, and games.

Early Morning Care and Breakfast

Early morning care and breakfast begin at 7:15 AM. Children enjoy a continental breakfast, juice, and milk. Students may participate in activities or quietly study until dismissal to class at 7:45 AM.

Extended Day

Kindergarten-4th Grade (3:15 PM-6:00 PM)

Kindergarten through 4th Grade students enjoy recess until 4:00 PM, followed by a snack with juice or milk, then a supervised homework session, 20-minutes of silent reading time, and ending with activity time or simply relaxing with friends.

5th Grade-8th Grade (3:30 PM-6:00 PM)

5th through 8th Grade students begin with recess until 4:00 PM, followed by a snack with the option to begin supervised homework earlier. When homework is completed, students spend 20 minutes reading silently before participating in activities and recreation.

Children may participate in Extended Day before or after enrichment sessions.

Children sign-in at dismissal and must be signed out by their parents or by a person authorized by the parent. If an adult is not known or recognized by our Extended Day staff, we will politely but firmly request identification.

The Extended Day programs, other than After School Enrichment, are licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services. There is always one staff member on duty that is certified in First Aid & Adult/Infant CPR/AED and Medication Administration Training (MAT). Each staff member completes 16 hours of continuing education each year.

Camp Williams

Camp Williams provides students with fun activities on select days when school is not in session. This is a component of Extended Day. We will email an itinerary two weeks prior to each Camp Williams session. Priority is given to students already enrolled in our Extended Day program.

Please note that bus service is not provided for children participating in Extended Day or After School Enrichment programs.
