A graduate of The Williams School, Emily Warden has built a nationally recognized career as an artist and fine jeweler. What began as a small dorm-room side hustle at James Madison University in 2017—selling her art projects and a handmade jewelry line—quickly grew into a full creative venture.

In 2019, she opened her first brick-and-mortar shop (Emily Warden Designs) in Richmond’s Fan District, featuring her jewelry along with work by local makers. As her vision evolved, she transitioned the brand toward fine jewelry and custom bridal design, developing a distinctive, delicate style that has drawn clients from across the country. Emily’s attention to classic techniques, sustainable sourcing, and artistic excellence earned her national acclaim, including recognition on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in Art & Style (2022). Some of her fondest memories from Williams include the Big Brother/Big Sister program, curling up in the cozy “bathtub of pillows” to read, and the joyful chaos of making gak on Field Day. She also loved playing flute in the band and fondly remembers many class pets, especially the kindergarten box turtle and the first grade guinea pig.

Today, Emily continues to grow her brand and craft, drawing on the same creativity, curiosity, and sense of community that have long been at the heart of The Williams School experience.

We are proud to spotlight Evan Pittman, an accomplished individual whose diverse achievements and commitment to excellence continue to inspire. 

Evan attended TWS for five years in lower school. Although he moved out of the area prior to graduation, his family remains connected to TWS. Once an Owl, always an Owl.

Evan’s journey to success began early, as he was honored with the City of Phoenix Outstanding Young Man of the Year award in 2017 while still attending high school in Arizona. His passion for learning and leadership led him to Brown University, where he earned dual degrees in Business and Education.

Throughout his academic and professional career, Evan has gained invaluable experience through prestigious internships. He worked in the U.S. Senate office, for the CEO of AT&T, at Dell Technologies, and with Wells Fargo. His drive and potential didn’t go unnoticed as he was selected as both a Goldwater Institute Ronald Reagan Fellow and a Hanson Leadership Fellow.

Evan’s career continued to evolve as he worked as a program analyst at A3 Technologies in Washington, DC, supporting the FAA’s space program. This role provided him with a unique insight into aerospace and technology. His exceptional accomplishments were further recognized when he was named a Fulbright Scholar for the academic year 2023-2024 in Bogotá, Colombia. In addition, he was selected as a SEO Law Fellow in 2024 and secured a summer associate position in corporate litigation at Quinn Emanuel in Boston.

Currently, Evan is attending Cornell Law School as an Anthony and Rosemary Phillips Scholar, a testament to his academic excellence. Fluent in French and Spanish, with some knowledge of Russian, Evan’s language skills reflect his global outlook and adaptability.

Evan’s talents also extend beyond the classroom. He is an accomplished athlete, having won state and national titles in Taekwondo, achieved All-American status in springboard diving, and broken world records in powerlifting. His athletic prowess has earned him recognition in Sports Illustrated on two occasions. In 2024, Evan became the youngest elected member of the AAU Powerlifting Hall of Fame—an impressive milestone in his athletic career.

With his remarkable accomplishments across a wide range of fields, Evan is an example of what it means to lead with purpose, passion, and dedication. We look forward to seeing where his journey takes him next.

Anna Lowe is a proud 2016 graduate of The Williams School, where she attended from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Her formative years at Williams laid the foundation for her passion for education and the environment. After graduating from Williams, she went on to attend Granby High School’s IB program for high school, where she excelled academically and competed as a rower for all four years, demonstrating her commitment to hard work, teamwork, and leadership.

According to Anna, one of the most meaningful experiences during high school was her role as a tutor, both for her peers in math and Spanish, as well as for younger students at Granby Elementary. This experience sparked her love for helping others and solidified her interest in making a positive impact on those around her.

Anna continued to follow her passion for both environmental conservation and education after high school. She graduated from William & Mary in May 2024 with a double major in Integrative Conservation and Environmental Science.

Upon graduation from college, Anna gained hands-on experience as an Education and Animal Care Intern with Seal Rescue Ireland. There, she worked on the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of seal pups, contributing to the protection of marine life across Ireland. She returned to TWS’ campus in December 2024 to speak with our lower school students about seal rescue, rehabilitation, and the environmental threats facing marine life worldwide.

As Anna embarks on her next adventure, we are excited to see her continue to be an active steward of the environment. Her dedication to conservation and her passion for making a difference set an inspiring example for our current students to follow. We are proud of her accomplishments and look forward to all the positive impact she will undoubtedly continue to have on the world.
