BEGINNING AND INTERMEDIATE GROUP VIOLIN CLASSES (FALL, WINTER & SPRING)
Group Violin classes focus on a hybrid of Suzuki method and techniques while cultivating social approaches to music and progress, including exercises on active listening and articulation. Students will learn to read music, hear melody and harmony lines, and talk constructively with their peers about the work they are doing. Violin rentals at http://www.sharmusic.com/rentals/
Instructor: Heejin Weisbrod, strings instructor at The Williams School holds two past graduate degrees from the Peabody Conservatory and has been teaching violin for nearly twenty years. She teaches a hybrid of Suzuki method and technique learned directly from students of the infamous Stolyarsky Music School in Odessa.
SOCCER SHOTS (Fall & Spring)
Soccer Shots is a uniquely designed program that will introduce soccer to your child in a fun, safe and controlled environment. Each week throughout our season, we offer 30-40 minute soccer sessions where we teach basic soccer skills, fun games and healthy competition to your child. Our program also emphasizes character-forming lessons such as fair play, individual concentration, cooperation and encouragement. http://www.soccershots.org
Chess Club (FALL, WINTER & SPRING)
The goal of chess is to help players think clearly and logically about solving problems they face on the chess board. Studies have shown that this type of thinking is readily transferred to other areas, both academic and non-academic. Students will follow a curriculum developed by the instructor, Chess Master James Schuyler. Each meeting begins with a short lesson on strategies to help the students focus on improving their skills and playing practice matches. Students participate in local chess tournaments.
Master Schuyler is a FIDE master and three time Virginia State Chess Champion

Yoga and Mindfulness Class (FALL, WINTER & SPRING)
Students will go on an exploration of yoga postures, mindfulness activities, breathing techniques and relaxation exercises. Through playful yoga sequences, students will connect their movements with their breath. As they deepen their physical yoga practice, they will cultivate a calm mind while increasing their strength and flexibility.
Instructor: Maura Kikstra is a graduate of Boston College. She furthered her education by becoming a certified yoga teacher and holistic health counselor. She received her ISHTA yoga certification under Yogiraj Alan Finger in New York City. ISHTA yoga blends the ancient and contemporary sciences of Hatha, Tantra and Ayurveda. She then deepened her holistic education at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She is passionate about the mind/body connection.
Safari Robotics/STEM Club (FALL & WINTER)
Get ready to stretch your imagination and STEM skills while building and programming with LEGOs! This STEM club is fully interactive! Students will learn to collaborate while gaining exposure to information-based technology for the future! All experience levels are welcome!
Grades 1-3 New introductory students will utilize LEGO bricks to create wild safari animals, learning how to program their robots to move and make sounds! This STEM club is fully interactive! Students will learn to collaborate while gaining exposure to information-based technology for the future! All experience levels are welcome!
Grades 3-5 Current students from the Fall session and new members will advance their knowledge with new intricate robot designs, developing critical thinking skills and problem solving strategies.
Little Feet Dance Studio (FALL, WINTER & SPRING)
Little Feet Dance continues with its beginner dance class that will introduce students to ballet, jazz, hip hop, and musical theatre.
Instructor: Kristin Poulin, Guidance Counselor, is the owner/director of Little Feet Dance. She has been providing dance education to local preschools, private and public schools in the area for over 15 years.
